Terms of Service
Dineyo is a dining discovery, table booking and live deals service for restaurants in Rwanda, operated by Clover Technologies Private Limited, Kayciru, Kigali, Rwanda ("Dineyo", "we", "us"). By creating an account, logging in or using Dineyo you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Dineyo. Restaurants that list on Dineyo also agree to the separate Partner Terms.
1. Who can use Dineyo
You must be at least 16 years old and able to make payments in your own name. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your phone and login codes private. Never share a login code with anyone, including people who say they are from Dineyo.
2. Your account and logging in
- You log in with your Rwandan mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS or WhatsApp. You must use a number that belongs to you.
- Give a real name for your bookings. Restaurants use it to find your table.
- Logins stay active for up to 7 days on the website and 15 days in the app, unless you log out.
- You can delete your account at any time. See Delete your data.
3. Restaurant information
Listings come from restaurants, our team, our users and public sources such as OpenStreetMap. We work to keep them accurate, but opening hours, menus, prices and photos can change. Check important details with the restaurant. The restaurant, not Dineyo, prepares and serves your food and is responsible for it. Menu highlights on Dineyo describe what is on offer; they are not a promise about taste.
4. Booking a table
- A booking is a request to the restaurant. Depending on the restaurant, it is confirmed straight away or once the restaurant accepts it. We tell you when it is confirmed or if the restaurant can't take it.
- Booking deposit. Some bookings need a small deposit paid on Dineyo (currently 1,000 RWF; the amount is shown before you pay). When you pay your bill on Dineyo at that restaurant, the deposit comes off the bill.
- If you cancel in your account before the booking time, or the restaurant declines or cancels, the deposit goes back to your Dineyo wallet.
- If you don't turn up and the restaurant marks the booking as a no-show, the deposit is not returned.
- If a booking deposit is not paid in time, the booking request lapses.
- Please arrive on time. The restaurant may give your table to others if you are very late.
5. Deals
Deals are offered by restaurants and shown with their terms (days, times, minimum bill, what the deal covers, limits). A deal only applies when you pay your bill on Dineyo and the terms are met; Dineyo works out the discount automatically. Restaurants can change, pause or end deals, so check the deal's terms when you pay. Deals can't be exchanged for cash.
6. Paying your bill
- You can pay restaurant bills on Dineyo with Mobile Money (MTN MoMo, Airtel Money), card or your Dineyo wallet. Payments are processed by licensed payment partners; Dineyo never sees your card number or PIN.
- Enter the total on the restaurant's receipt. You confirm the amount you pay is correct. If you pay the wrong amount, contact the restaurant and support@dineyo.com.
- A payment is complete only when it shows as paid on Dineyo. Show the receipt number to your server.
- Questions about the food, service or the bill itself are for the restaurant. Questions about a payment on Dineyo are for us.
7. Wallet, promotional credit and invites
- Your wallet holds returned deposits and other credit. It can be used for booking deposits and bills at restaurants that take payments on Dineyo. It can't be transferred to another person. If you need a wallet balance returned to you, email us and we will review the request.
- Promotional credit (for example from inviting a friend) is a gift from Dineyo, expires after the period shown, has no cash value, and is used before your wallet balance.
- Invite rewards are for genuine new users who complete a qualifying first meal. We may cancel rewards gained through fake accounts, self-invites or other misuse.
8. Dineyo Prime
Dineyo Prime is an invite-only membership. Members can book without paying the booking deposit while Prime is offered. Membership is given at our discretion, for example after completing a number of bookings in the app or with a one-time invite code. Invite codes are personal and single-use. We may change Prime's benefits, pause the programme, or remove membership if it is misused. No-show and other rules in these terms still apply to members.
9. Reviews and content you post
Reviews must be based on your own visit and be honest. Don't post anything false, offensive, hateful, promotional, or that includes other people's personal details. Restaurant owners and staff must not review their own or competing restaurants. You keep ownership of what you post, and you let Dineyo show it on Dineyo and in our marketing about Dineyo. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
10. Messages from Dineyo
- We send service messages you need: login codes, booking confirmations and changes, reminders, receipts and account notices, by SMS, WhatsApp, email or app notification.
- Deal alerts in the app, and promotions on WhatsApp, are sent only if you agree. Switch them off any time in Account › Notifications, or reply STOP to a WhatsApp promotion.
- Standard SMS and data charges from your mobile network may apply.
11. Things you must not do
Don't use Dineyo to break the law; make bookings you don't intend to keep; create accounts in someone else's name or several accounts to collect rewards; interfere with, scrape or overload the service; try to get around security or payment checks; or use Dineyo to harass restaurants or other users. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
12. Our content
The Dineyo name, logos, mascot, app and website are owned by Dineyo or its licensors. You may use Dineyo for your own personal, non-commercial use. Some listing data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and used under its licence.
13. Availability and liability
We work to keep Dineyo available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the extent the law allows, Dineyo is not responsible for the food, drinks, service or premises of restaurants, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where we are responsible for a problem with a payment or deposit made on Dineyo, our responsibility is limited to the amount you paid through Dineyo for that booking or bill. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Rwandan consumer law.
14. Ending your use
You can stop using Dineyo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Dineyo changes. We'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by message before they apply. Using Dineyo after that means you accept the new terms.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at support@dineyo.com and we will try to sort it out. If we can't, the competent courts of Rwanda will decide.
